Ms. Munsinger's practice focuses on family law with an emphasis on alternatives to litigation, including
collaborative law and mediation.
Collaborative law is a new way to do divorces in Texas. The attorneys and the parties make an agreement
in writing to resolve the suit without going to court except for the formalities. Then, everyone works
together in private to reach a settlement agreement. Often, the attorneys ask a mental health
professional and a financial professional to join the team. The attorneys can't serve as litigation
counsel except to ask the court to approve the settlement agreement. This new way to do divorces is
supported by the Texas Family Code. Collaborative lawyers are specially trained. For more about
collaborative law, please visit the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas website at
www.collablawtexas.org.
Ms. Munsinger is admitted to practice in Texas state courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
